Here is where I post my, projects, art and anything I'm excited about.

Finally!!

Finally done with this giant sized one of a kind Apparition sculpture!!
i'm really happy with it. I know when i'm happy with it cause I don't want to give it away.
Although I had to keep it for a few extra days for documentation and record. I learned my lesson way back about not having record of art i've made. Kids, always have record of your work! Now you know and knowing is half the battle.

Took me a while to finish him. Originally is was only supposed to Vincent and his Cat. But, every time I make something for a client or friend I like to give them something a little extra so I decided on Abercrombie. Besides it was also a birthday present so I wanted to give my 2 cents.

I had the idea that  Abercrombie would and cast a shadow for the  "Horrible Zombie" he becomes, giving Vincent a scared expression at sight of the monster he's created. This is not in the movie but i thought it be cool to paint the shadow on the glass.

Abercrombie posed some challenges.. namely his receiver hat with all the antennas. Those delicate the little antenna probably would not survive transport if I made them out of metal/paperclips. A tiny jostle ,the glue would give and they'd fly all over the place. Fortunately for me I recently purchased a 3d printer and wanted an excuse to use it on something other than just trinkets. The ABS plastic was perfect, light and had great flex to it. All i had to do was model it and print it!!

Finally it was done, secured Vincent and Abercrombie to the base. Made sure they weren't going anywhere. Also I did everything I could to make safe for transport. And I have great fondness for packaging. I like to make to the finished product feel it was store bought.  I try to the best of my ability to make it an experience.

I made a Box for it.  Tried to think all the things that could go wrong. Although I'd prefer it be taken by hand, I think it can survive a trip to New York.

That face right there, a grin from ear to ear is what i look forward to when i turn in a piece. Happiness sometimes comes in a box....  ahem, excuse the mess.

After a long wait  my friend/Client was happy with the piece he bought his sister.  I Enjoyed the accomplishment  and the stress that came with this piece. It felt like family and I didn't want to give it up.
I truly hope his sister enjoys it as much as I loved making it.
